The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant of £11,700 to Wymondham College.
The College is an important historical site has been extensively developed but many original buildings remain from its days as a US Air Force Hospital during the Second World War. In particular;

It was the first ever sports festival for state boarding schools and over 500 children from 13 schools around the country gathered to compete in a wide range of sports. Sisters, Charlotte and Katie Taylor have achieved a rare feat in the world of music. The girls, who are pupils at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School, have both been accepted into National Choirs; Charlotte (aged 14) has joined the National Youth Choir of Great Britain; Katie (aged 11) has joined the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain.

Old Swinford Hospital student Alasdair Payne has completed a BTEC First Diploma Level 2 in Public Services with a distinction star and is delighted to have been offered a place at the University of Reading to study War, Peace & International Relations.

Around 120 students over the age of 15 took part in a screening programme for cardiac abnormalities at Old Swinford Hospital school, Stourbridge on 1st March 2011.
The testing programme was carried out by CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young, a registered charity raising awareness of undetected cardiac abnormalities in young, apparently healthy individuals. The test held... Read more »

It was a great day for anyone with a sweet tooth at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School on Wednesday 16th February. Junior house prefects had been hard at work making cakes the previous evening and had arranged a cake sale at lunchtime.

Five students from Wymondham College , Emily Hoogkamer, Matthew Farmer, Lucy Soudain, Ben Partridge and Rosie Baines have been chosen as runners up in the 13-15 year old age group of the Baillie Gifford & Financial Mail Essay Competition.
