Students at Wymondham College were celebrating record-breaking AS and A2 results yesterday as the College bucked the national trend towards lower grades and produced some superb results.

It was uncharacteristically quiet at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School yesterday. That's because over 450 pupils went on school trips. Holyport College has appointed Walter Boyle to be its first Headteacher. Walter is currently Deputy Principal at Wymondham College, Norfolk, a leading state boarding school. He will start in his post in January 2014 prior to the school opening in September 2014.

Over the last few weeks, 13 year old Zoe Cawsey has picked up a good crop of medals for swimming. Zoe, who is a pupil at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School, has been competing in various swimming competitions, and has had considerable success.

After completing a demanding 2-year A Level course, most 18 year olds would be planning to take it easy for a few weeks. But Ross Gardner, a student at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School has other plans. He will spend the summer cycling down the west coast of the USA, raising money for Cancer Research.

Mr Melvyn Roffe, currently Principal of Wymondham College in Norfolk, will be moving north to become Principal of George Watson's College in Edinburgh from August 2014.
