The Duke of York's Royal Military School's military band was invited to participate in the Beating Retreat ceremony at Chatham Historic Dockyard on 12 May.
The occasion was Submariners' Day, timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the launching of the submarine Ocelot in dry dock. She was the last ship to be built for the Royal Navy at Chatham.

Old Swinford Hospital student Christopher Bransbury has been awarded an 'Air Cadet Pilot Scheme' flying scholarship by the RAF.
Christopher recently gained his 'Silver Wings' after completing a Gliding Scholarship Course at RAF Cosford and was recommended for this prestigious scholarship. Prior to flying solo, Christopher had to bank 5 ½ hours with an instructor.

The Duke of York's Royal Military School's Musician of the Year event is an inter-house competition that judges pupils' musical ability. There are three judging categories; beginner, intermediate and advanced, with an overall winner based on who delivers the highest standard of performance on the night.

Lancaster Royal Grammar School became Northern Schools Cross Country Champions for the third year in a row recently. All five teams taking part in the prestigious competition held at Woodbank Park, Stockport (curlews, cubs, colts, juniors and seniors) won their categories, making LRGS the overall winners of the coveted rose bowl for the third year running.

Earlier this year Wymondham College was fortunate to host a group of Chiefs of Intelligence from Kosovo police who came to the College as part of a visit to Norfolk Constabulary to gain experience of intelligence led policing in the UK.
